Dr. Cancelliere and Father Tom accept a certificate of accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools

The Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools announced that Holy Redeemer School has been awarded full accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. This award was announced by Dr. Patricia Kelly-Stiles, Chair of the Commission and Deputy Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Brooklyn, New York in April, 2006. Holy Redeemer was one of only 100 elementary schools to receive this award from the Middle States region of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

Middle States Accreditation means that Holy Redeemer School has completed a rigorous process of self study; has hosted an evaluation team of independent educators who examined the school; and has created an approved strategic plan to continue to improve the school. This process took more than two years and involved the faculty, students and parents.

Accreditation also means that Holy Redeemer meets the standards of the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools for a quality school. These standards are based on rigorous research and best practices from studies of schools throughout the United States.

The Middle States Association is more than 100 years old and Middle States accreditation is a recognized indication of trustworthiness, educational excellence, and a commitment to on-going school improvement. F. Laird Evans, Ed.D, Executive Director of the Middle States Commission, offered his congratulations to Holy Redeemer School, adding, “Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools accreditation is recognition of both prior achievements and a commitment to greater future accomplishments.”
